Funding boost for innovation in volunteering

29 Apr 2019

Volunteers contribute huge amounts to our community and our economy. It’s vital that not-for-profit groups have the resources, support and expertise they need to properly support volunteers. We’re thankful to Hon Paul Fletcher MP for supporting the innovative work we do in providing specialist legal advice to the volunteering sector.

“This will to help organisations to focus on their work, confident that help on common legal issues is readily available. It builds on the resources and support Justice Connect already deliver to the sector, and I am sure they will help many not-for-profit organisations across Australia add to their already considerable contribution to our community,” said Mr Fletcher.

This funding boost will allow us to continue our vital support for volunteer-reliant not-for-profits across Australia.  Building on what we have been doing over the last year with Federal Government support, we are helping not-for-profit organisations to better support their volunteers through resources like our National Volunteer Guide, webinars and our volunteer web app. We’re also releasing a new e-learning module in late May.

This funding will contribute to the provision of a full time lawyer to assist organisations with legal enquiries via email and phone.

We are pleased we can continue this vital support service for volunteer-involving organisations. To see our resources, visit www.nfplaw.org.au/volunteers.
