Our Health Justice Partnerships
We work with healthcare services in Victoria and New South Wales to provide free legal help to patients who may be experiencing or at risk of financial elder abuse.
Our lawyers work with healthcare workers to help them identify signs of elder abuse in their patients, and refer them to us for free legal help.
Once patients are referred to us, we work with them to understand their situation and provide information, refer them to pro bono legal help, or help them put legal documents in place that can protect their interests and safety as they age.
We currently partner with the following healthcare services in Victoria and New South Wales:
- cohealth, Melbourne
- St Vincent’s Hospital, Fitzroy
- St Vincent’s Health Network Sydney
- Uniting War Memorial Hospital, Waverley
Am I eligible?
You may be eligible for our services if you are:
- A patient at one of our partner hospitals,
- Within the eligible age range, and
- Experiencing a legal issue we can help with.
You may fall within our eligible age range depending on who you are and where you live.
- If you live in Victoria, you must be at least 60 years old.
- If you live in New South Wales, you must be at least 65 years old.
- If you are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, you must be at least 50 years old.
When you apply for help online, we’ll ask you a few questions to check your eligibility and help match you with the right Justice Connect service.
