Kate Fazio wins 2020 Telstra Business Women’s Award

Justice Connect is proud to celebrate the well-deserved recognition of our Head of Innovation and Engagement, Kate Fazio, in the 2020 Telstra Business Women’s Awards after winning the For Purpose & Social Enterprise category (Victoria). 

Every year, millions of Australians need legal help, and less than half of those people get it. That’s a problem that our Head of Innovation and Engagement, Kate Fazio is dedicated to solving. Kate is a passionate leader committed to delivering innovative, and high-impact responses to unmet legal need in Australia. We couldn’t be prouder to see her crucial work recognised in the 2020 Telstra Business Women’s Awards. 

 “Kate has worked at Justice Connect for nearly eight years, and in that time, she has demonstrated incredible dedication, commitment and resilience in her role advocating for and then driving forward digital transformation in the justice system” said Justice Connect CEO Chris Povey.  

 “The work that Kate leads at Justice Connect is recognised around the world as leading the field.” 

 “Kate’s work shows that it is absolutely possible to use technology to support increased access to justice while ensuring products and services are inclusive and deliver positive community impacts.”  

Ms Fazio said, “I’m grateful to Telstra for recognising that helping people resolve their legal problems is important work, and for their endorsement of the consumer-focused, agile and technology-driven approach that I champion. “  

 “With rising levels of unmet legal need in the community as a result of the bushfire and COVID-19 crises, it has never been more important for us to find new approaches to meeting unmet legal need in Australia.”

 “I would not be receiving this recognition without having had the luck to start work at Justice Connect eight years ago — an organisation in which I’ve been able to use my skills to make a real difference,” said Ms Fazio.
