CLCs on the Portal
Bringing the Portal to Community Legal Centres across Australia
Bringing the Portal to Community Legal Centres across Australia
Our Pro Bono Portal is an award-winning platform that makes referring pro bono matters easier. With so many law firms already using the Portal, we began offering access to other community legal centres (CLCs) and legal service organisations so they could efficiently place matters with the most appropriate law firms.
CLCs can use the Portal to directly connect with lawyers that can help with their matters. We are actively responding to feedback from CLCs, to continue to improve the CLC user experience.
By getting CLCs on the Pro Bono Portal, the community legal services ecosystem can more efficiently connect people in their community with free legal help from pro bono lawyers.
Using the Portal has a range of benefits for CLCs including:
In FY22, 106 staff from CLCs have been able to share 47 opportunities with 12 participating law firms offering pro bono assistance. In FY23, the pilot is being expanded to be available to more CLCs and all 160 law firms already using the Pro Bono Portal.
CLCs and frontline organisations and continue to use our Referrer Tool to make referrals to Justice Connect if this is their preference, rather than using the Portal.
